Why would I post on Medium (for free) if I have to pay to read others?

As you can see on my profile, I’ve posted some unique tutorials that you won’t find anywhere else on the internet. In fact, I’ve noticed that many tutorials are just copied and pasted from my content. However, I also noticed that to read posts from other creators, I have to $ubscribe to Medium. Is this fair?
Even if I join the Partner Program, where I can start earning from my articles, I still have to subscribe.
I think this is wrong.
In the meantime, I’m moving all my articles to dev.to
